This is carried out by the doctor and assisted by the practice nurse or HCA.
This may include for example the removal or freezing of a wart or cyst, steroid injection for painful bone conditions i.e. tennis elbow, frozen shoulder.
Contraceptive services and advice, including contraception implant fitting service and emergency contraception is available to all , please make an appointment with Chris Corbett, Practice Nurse.
For emergency contraception it is advisable to seek advice as soon as possible either at the surgery during normal hours or after 6.30pm contact The Brook Clinic or MKUCS. These services are entirely confidential and can be given either by your doctor or your local family planning clinic.

Sexually transmitted diseases are common and can affect any sexually active individual. If you think you may have a sexually transmitted disease you can seek confidential advice from your doctor or from Milton Keynes sexual health clinic: Tel No: 0300 300 3030
Some diseases can be prevented or treated more successfully through early detection by screening. In view of this we encourage our patients to attend for the following procedures:
A recall system exists to call eligible women between the ages of 25 and 64 years for regular smear tests according to national protocols. Appointments are made with the nursing staff.
Arranged by the NHS health authority, is available to all women between 50 and 70 years of age. Patients are informed of their appointment by letter. A leaflet containing further details is available at the surgery. Breast Awareness is encouraged in all women of all ages.
Bowel screening is available to all patients between the age of 60 - 74. You will be contacted by letter.
It is important that all men, particularly those aged 15-40, examine their testicles regularly and if they become aware of any changes, e.g. pain, swelling etc, they should make an appointment to see a GP. Information is available at the surgery.

All patients who feel they would benefit from attending one of our clinics are welcome to discuss an appointment with our reception staff.
If you have had a positive pregnancy test at home please complete a midwife contact form www.mkuh.nhs.uk/maternity-services/antenatal-self-referral-form and the midwives will get in contact with you.
The midwife will then contact you to make an appointment.

The Integrated Community Support Team is setting up drop in sessions in your local medical centre twice a month to help you understand the process and the options better.

Please telephone for results of blood tests or x-rays between 10.00 – 3.00 whenever possible.
Blood tests and xrays take a minimum of 5 working days, although some tests do take longer.
Please note it is the patient’s responsibility to collect their own test results. Due to confidentiality, results will not be give to a 3rd party unless consent has been given by the patient.
We text patients if they need to collect a prescription or make a routine follow up appointment. These are not for urgent follow ups and are booked into next available routine appointments. This may be up to 4 weeks in advance.

No more drop in baby clinic until further notice.
The Health Visitors at the surgery run several clinics/sessions on a regular basis:
A baby clinic for babies aged under 1 year run every Wednesday between 1:00pm - 2:30pm (last admission at 2:20pm). This is a drop in clinic and no appointment is necessary. The baby clinic does not run when CMK Medical Centre are shut for protected learning time.
An immunisation clinic is also held on a Wednesday between 12:30pm - 4:00pm appointment times are sent by letter for this clinic. If you are unable to make your allotted date/time please telephone the surgery.

As they are done outside of clinic time the reception team will return your call when they have spoken to your registered GP to arrange a time.
We require 2 to 3 weeks' notice and a non refundable deposit will be requested before the booking can be confirmed. This will need to be paid in cash at our reception desk. The balance will be taken on the day of your appointment.
